This artwork by Antonia Showering achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in London in March this year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Transit sold for GBP 30,480.00 (€ 34,676.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Antonia Showering have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work We Stray in June last year with an auction result of GBP 239,400.00 (€ 278,114.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Antonia Showering erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Phillips in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Transit für GBP 30.480,00 (€ 34.676,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antonia Showering auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit We Stray im Juni letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 239.400,00 (€ 278.114,70).
