In May this year Bruun Rasmussen held the auction Paintings, furniture and varia (postponed), which included the work Seascape with sailingships in high sea by Anton Melbye. The »bidding war« ended at DKK 4,600.00 (€ 617.42), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anton Melbye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work “Det franske Skruelinieskib Napoleon paa Rheden af Beikos i Bosperus” in March this year with an auction result of DKK 300,000.00 (€ 40,259.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bruun Rasmussen die Auktion Paintings, furniture and varia (postponed) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seascape with sailingships in high sea von Anton Melbye zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von DKK 4.600,00 (€ 617,42) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anton Melbye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit “Det franske Skruelinieskib Napoleon paa Rheden af Beikos i Bosperus” im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von DKK 300.000,00 (€ 40.259,38).
