Auction result misses estimated price range
In May this year a collector was able to acquire the work Seascape with keeling sailingship, in the background mountains by Anton Melbye for DKK 3,400.00 (€ 456.35). This price was achieved in the auction Paintings, furniture and varia (postponed) at Bruun Rasmussen and was even below the estimate range of DKK 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anton Melbye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work “Det franske Skruelinieskib Napoleon paa Rheden af Beikos i Bosperus” in March this year with an auction result of DKK 300,000.00 (€ 40,259.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Mai diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Seascape with keeling sailingship, in the background mountains von Anton Melbye für DKK 3.400,00 (€ 456,35) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Paintings, furniture and varia (postponed) bei Bruun Rasmussen erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von DKK 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anton Melbye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit “Det franske Skruelinieskib Napoleon paa Rheden af Beikos i Bosperus” im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von DKK 300.000,00 (€ 40.259,38).
