Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Coastal view with sailing ships by Anton Melbye was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of DKK 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 1,850.00 (€ 248.13). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anton Melbye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work “Det franske Skruelinieskib Napoleon paa Rheden af Beikos i Bosperus” in March this year with an auction result of DKK 300,000.00 (€ 40,259.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Coastal view with sailing ships von Anton Melbye im November diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von DKK 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 1.850,00 (€ 248,13) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anton Melbye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit “Det franske Skruelinieskib Napoleon paa Rheden af Beikos i Bosperus” im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von DKK 300.000,00 (€ 40.259,38).
