Auction result well in line with expectations
The work From Las Meninas I by Anthony Whishaw was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 418.25 (€ 632.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Anthony Whishaw have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Blue Still Life in July 2014 with an auction result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,045.26).

Die Arbeit From Las Meninas I von Anthony Whishaw kam im Juli 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 418,25 (€ 632,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthony Whishaw auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Blue Still Life im Juli 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.045,26).
