Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Nightscape by Anthony Staynes was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 746.27). Other works by Anthony Staynes have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in February 2012 by the work Woman with a cup at GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,492.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Nightscape von Anthony Staynes im Februar 2012 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 625,00 (€ 746,27) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Anthony Staynes wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Februar 2012 die Arbeit Woman with a cup mit GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.492,53).
