Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2009 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art including The Olga Davenport Collection, which included the work Rocky Landscape by Anthony Gross. The price achieved of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,482.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Gross achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A large collection of etchings, circa 1955 to 1976, on wove and laid paper, each signed and titled in pencil, each with full margins, in varying conditions, most in excellent overall condition in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 17,380.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2009 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art including The Olga Davenport Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rocky Landscape von Anthony Gross zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.482,73) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anthony Gross erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A large collection of etchings, circa 1955 to 1976, on wove and laid paper, each signed and titled in pencil, each with full margins, in varying conditions, most in excellent overall condition im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 17.380,46).
