Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In June 2003 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH ART ON PAPER, which included the work An extensive landscape, Gloucestershire, probably Wotton-under-Edge by Anthony Devis. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,270.50 (€ 3,262.83). Admittedly, works by Anthony Devis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A pastoral river landscape with an elegant couple conversing in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 13,113.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juni 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH ART ON PAPER durch, in der auch die Arbeit An extensive landscape, Gloucestershire, probably Wotton-under-Edge von Anthony Devis zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.270,50 (€ 3.262,83) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Anthony Devis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A pastoral river landscape with an elegant couple conversing im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 13.113,28).
