Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Taos Pueblo: Photographed by Ansel Easton Adams and Described by Mary Austin by Ansel Adams was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in New York in April 2002. The price achieved of USD 28,680.00 (€ 31,859.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ansel Adams achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Grand Tetons and the Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 988,000.00 (€ 807,849.55).
