Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Library, Portugal by Anne Redpath was auctioned at Bonhams in Edinburgh in May last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,375.00 (€ 7,499.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anne Redpath achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life With White Tulips in April 2007 with an auction result of GBP 216,000.00 (€ 316,251.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Library, Portugal von Anne Redpath im Mai letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Edinburgh versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.375,00 (€ 7.499,58) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anne Redpath erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life With White Tulips im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 216.000,00 (€ 316.251,83).
