Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Laguna Canyon by Anna Althea Hills was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,737.50 (€ 5,557.98). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anna Althea Hills achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Spell of the Sea (Near Moss Point) in November this year with an auction result of USD 229,100.00 (€ 210,029.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Laguna Canyon von Anna Althea Hills im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.737,50 (€ 5.557,98) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anna Althea Hills erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Spell of the Sea (Near Moss Point) im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 229.100,00 (€ 210.029,34).
