Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2000 Christies in London held the auction 19th and 20th Century Photographs, which included the work Quentin Crisp, 1941 by Angus McBean. It changed hands for a price of GBP 470.00 (€ 803.36) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Angus McBean achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Audrey Hepburn, 1951 in September 2019 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,336.20).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th and 20th Century Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Quentin Crisp, 1941 von Angus McBean zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 470,00 (€ 803,36) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Angus McBean erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Audrey Hepburn, 1951 im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.336,20).
