Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Angus Jones could be acquired at Christies in Melbourne in August 2005 for an unexpectedly low price. In the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction, the work Figure and Sculpture changed hands for AUD 1,195.00 (€ 728.24) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 1,800.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Angus Jones - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled Face, which sold at auction in July 2020 for AUD 1,952.00 (€ 1,657.89).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Angus Jones konnte im August 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS wechselte die Arbeit Figure and Sculpture für AUD 1.195,00 (€ 728,24) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 1.800,00 – 2.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Angus Jones mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled Face beobachtet, die im Juli 2020 für AUD 1.952,00 (€ 1.657,89) versteigert wurde.
