Artwork auctioned at seven times the upper estimate price
When the work Tilda by Ángeles Agrela was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May last year, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 15,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than seven times as high at USD 113,400.00 (€ 105,675.15). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ángeles Agrela; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Alicia sold at auction in September last year with the realized price of USD 144,900.00 (€ 148,114.08).
Kunstwerk zum Siebenfachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Tilda von Ángeles Agrela im Mai letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – USD 15.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit USD 113.400,00 (€ 105.675,15) mehr als siebenmal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ángeles Agrela; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Alicia im September letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 144.900,00 (€ 148.114,08).
