Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lenin (cf. F. & S. B402-403) by Andy Warhol was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2000. The price achieved of GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,230.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
