This artwork by Andy Warhol achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in May 2006. In the Post War and Contemporary Morning Session auction, the work Kiku sold for USD 84,000.00 (€ 65,456.25) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Andy Warhol erzielte im Mai 2006 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post War and Contemporary Morning Session wurde die Arbeit Kiku für USD 84.000,00 (€ 65.456,25) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 30.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andy Warhol erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shot Sage Blue Marilyn im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 195.040.000,00 (€ 181.753.797,41).
