In the Important Maritime Art auction, the work A Mediterranean capriccio of a sea fight between European merchantmen and Ottoman galeasses sold for GBP 38,900.00 (€ 55,862.96) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andries van Eertvelt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Battle Of Lepanto Of 1571, which sold at auction in May 2010 for EUR 168,750.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Andries van Eertvelt erzielte im Oktober 2007 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Maritime Art wurde die Arbeit A Mediterranean capriccio of a sea fight between European merchantmen and Ottoman galeasses für GBP 38.900,00 (€ 55.862,96) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Andries van Eertvelt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Battle Of Lepanto Of 1571 beobachtet, die im Mai 2010 für EUR 168.750,00 versteigert wurde.
