Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Andries van Eertvelt could be acquired at Sothebys in London in April 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters auction, the work A Mediterranean Coastal Scene With A Tower, Ships, And Figures On The Shore changed hands for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,391.49) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andries van Eertvelt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Battle Of Lepanto Of 1571 in May 2010 with an auction result of EUR 168,750.00.
