Auction result well in line with expectations
In July this year Christies in New York held the auction British and European Art, which included the work Shepherd resting on a country lane near a castle by Andreas Schelfhout. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 20,160.00 (€ 23,520.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andreas Schelfhout achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wintergezicht met schaatsrijders: a busy day on the ice in April 2007 with an auction result of EUR 524,800.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion British and European Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shepherd resting on a country lane near a castle von Andreas Schelfhout zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 20.160,00 (€ 23.520,61) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andreas Schelfhout erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wintergezicht met schaatsrijders: a busy day on the ice im April 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 524.800,00.
