Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Andreas Gursky could be acquired at Phillips in London in October 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction, the work Klitschko changed hands for GBP 399,000.00 (€ 462,811.39) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Admittedly, works by Andreas Gursky have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 99 Cent Ii, Diptych in February 2007 with an auction result of GBP 1,700,000.00 (€ 2,520,188.96).
