Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2013 Christies in Mumbai held the auction South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Hungarian Village Church) by Amrita Sher-Gil. The price achieved of INR 36,225,000.00 (€ 425,898.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as INR 30,000,000.00 – 40,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Amrita Sher-Gil have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled (Self-Portrait) in March 2015 with an auction result of USD 2,920,000.00 (€ 2,718,555.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2013 führte Christies in Mumbai die Auktion South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Hungarian Village Church) von Amrita Sher-Gil zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von INR 36.225.000,00 (€ 425.898,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit INR 30.000.000,00 – 40.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Amrita Sher-Gil auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled (Self-Portrait) im März 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.920.000,00 (€ 2.718.555,07).
