Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Self-Portrait) by Amrita Sher-Gil was sold in the Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2015. The price achieved of GBP 1,745,000.00 (€ 2,440,819.15) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,000,000.00. Other works by Amrita Sher-Gil have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2015 the work Untitled (Self-Portrait) was auctioned for USD 2,920,000.00 (€ 2,718,555.07).
