Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Allan McCollum achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in December 2021. In the Art Contemporain Evening Sale / Collection Passion…Passions auction, the work Collection of Thirty Plaster Surrogates sold for EUR 182,700.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 70,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Allan McCollum; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Collection of One Hundred and Ninety-two Plaster Surrogates sold at auction in September this year with the realized price of USD 226,800.00 (€ 214,285.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Allan McCollum erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art Contemporain Evening Sale / Collection Passion…Passions wurde die Arbeit Collection of Thirty Plaster Surrogates für EUR 182.700,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 70.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Allan McCollum; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Collection of One Hundred and Ninety-two Plaster Surrogates im September diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 226.800,00 (€ 214.285,71).
