Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April this year Artcurial in Paris held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Surrogate painting - 1980 by Allan McCollum. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 8,528.00 22% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Allan McCollum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Collection of One Hundred and Ninety-two Plaster Surrogates in September this year with an auction result of USD 226,800.00 (€ 214,285.71).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Artcurial in Paris die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Surrogate painting - 1980 von Allan McCollum zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 8.528,00 und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Allan McCollum erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Collection of One Hundred and Ninety-two Plaster Surrogates im September diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 226.800,00 (€ 214.285,71).
