Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mustangs by Allan Houser was auctioned at Christies in New York in December 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 38,400.00 (€ 32,426.95). Other works by Allan Houser have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2016 by the work Forever at USD 35,000.00 (€ 33,169.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mustangs von Allan Houser im Dezember 2005 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 38.400,00 (€ 32.426,95) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Allan Houser wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Dezember 2016 die Arbeit Forever mit USD 35.000,00 (€ 33.169,07).
