In May 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin America: Modern Art | Latin America: Contemporary Art, which included the work Portraits In Landscape Iii by Alirio Palacios. The price achieved of USD 23,750.00 (€ 21,329.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Portraits In Landscape Iii is the most expensive artwork by Alirio Palacios that we have observed at auctions so far.
