ALICE RAHON (1904-1987) Pluie signed, dated and titled 'Alice Paalen, Mexico 42, Pluie' (on the reverse) oil on canvas 9 3 ⁄ 8 x 13 1 ⁄ 8 in. (23.8 x 33.4 cm.) Painted in 1942.
Auction result misses estimated price range
In October this year a collector was able to acquire the work Pluie by Alice Rahon for USD 25,200.00 (€ 23,845.57). This price was achieved in the auction Latin American Art Online at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alice Rahon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Los Cuatro Hijos Del Arco Iris in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 512,000.00 (€ 455,881.04).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Pluie von Alice Rahon für USD 25.200,00 (€ 23.845,57) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Latin American Art Online bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alice Rahon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Los Cuatro Hijos Del Arco Iris im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 512.000,00 (€ 455.881,04).
