Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Walking II by Alfredo Jaar was auctioned at Phillips in New York in May 2016. It changed hands for a price of USD 18,750.00 (€ 16,838.80) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfredo Jaar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Refugee (Water), which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,721.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Walking II von Alfredo Jaar kam im Mai 2016 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 16.838,80) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfredo Jaar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Refugee (Water) beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 60.000,00 (€ 56.721,50) versteigert wurde.
