Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Whitby Abbey, with boats sailing out of the harbour by Alfred William Hunt was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2016. It achieved a price of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 11,139.53), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 17%. Admittedly, works by Alfred William Hunt have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'When the leaves begin to turn' in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 52,580.00 (€ 78,254.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Whitby Abbey, with boats sailing out of the harbour von Alfred William Hunt kam im Juli 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 9.375,00 (€ 11.139,53) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 17%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred William Hunt auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 'When the leaves begin to turn' im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 52.580,00 (€ 78.254,79).
