Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Theatre of Herodes Atticus, Athens by Alfred William Hunt was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,234.07) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred William Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'When the leaves begin to turn' in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 52,580.00 (€ 78,254.79).

Die Arbeit Theatre of Herodes Atticus, Athens von Alfred William Hunt kam im November 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 840,00 (€ 1.234,07) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
