Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work British Durham, Misty With Colliery Smoke. by Alfred William Hunt. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,708.61) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred William Hunt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'When the leaves begin to turn' in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 52,580.00 (€ 78,254.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit British Durham, Misty With Colliery Smoke. von Alfred William Hunt zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.708,61) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred William Hunt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'When the leaves begin to turn' im Juni 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 52.580,00 (€ 78.254,79).
