This artwork by Alfred von Wierusz-Kowalski achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2020. In the European Art: Paintings & Sculpture auction, the work On The Hunt sold for GBP 52,500.00 (€ 57,819.65) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alfred von Wierusz-Kowalski have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pferdeschlitten im Schnee von Wölfen bedroht. in March 2008 with an auction result of CHF 549,000.00 (€ 350,102.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfred von Wierusz-Kowalski erzielte im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion European Art: Paintings & Sculpture wurde die Arbeit On The Hunt für GBP 52.500,00 (€ 57.819,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred von Wierusz-Kowalski auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pferdeschlitten im Schnee von Wölfen bedroht. im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 549.000,00 (€ 350.102,56).
