This artwork by Alfred von Wierusz-Kowalski achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2018. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work Polish a Sledge Under Attack By Wolves sold for GBP 87,500.00 (€ 97,482.76) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred von Wierusz-Kowalski - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pferdeschlitten im Schnee von Wölfen bedroht., which sold at auction in March 2008 for CHF 549,000.00 (€ 350,102.56).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfred von Wierusz-Kowalski erzielte im Dezember 2018 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wurde die Arbeit Polish a Sledge Under Attack By Wolves für GBP 87.500,00 (€ 97.482,76) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred von Wierusz-Kowalski mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pferdeschlitten im Schnee von Wölfen bedroht. beobachtet, die im März 2008 für CHF 549.000,00 (€ 350.102,56) versteigert wurde.
