Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Four Sailing Boats and Pier Head by Alfred Wallis was sold in the Modern British Day Auction auction at Sothebys in London in June last year. The price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,637.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Wallis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St Ives Bay With Godrevy in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 145,250.00 (€ 180,975.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Four Sailing Boats and Pier Head von Alfred Wallis wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern British Day Auction bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.600,00 (€ 14.637,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Wallis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit St Ives Bay With Godrevy im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 145.250,00 (€ 180.975,11).
