Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alfred Wallis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in June last year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Boats with Rust Sails sold for GBP 53,220.00 (€ 61,826.50) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Wallis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work St Ives Bay With Godrevy, which sold at auction in May 2012 for GBP 145,250.00 (€ 180,975.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfred Wallis erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Boats with Rust Sails für GBP 53.220,00 (€ 61.826,50) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 25.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Wallis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit St Ives Bay With Godrevy beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für GBP 145.250,00 (€ 180.975,11) versteigert wurde.
