It achieved a price of USD 17,850.00 (€ 16,940.31), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 49%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred R. Mitchell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunset glow, which sold at auction in August 2018 for USD 62,500.00 (€ 53,897.90).

Die Arbeit El Cajon Mountain von Alfred R. Mitchell kam im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 17.850,00 (€ 16.940,31) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 49%. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred R. Mitchell mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunset glow beobachtet, die im August 2018 für USD 62.500,00 (€ 53.897,90) versteigert wurde.
