Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2003 Christies in London held the auction British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures, which included the work On the sunlit stairs by Alfred Provis. The price achieved of GBP 1,175.00 (€ 1,702.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Alfred Provis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work At the hearthside in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,881.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit On the sunlit stairs von Alfred Provis zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.175,00 (€ 1.702,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Provis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit At the hearthside im September 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.112,50 (€ 6.881,47).
