In May 2010 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work At the fireside by Alfred Provis. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,171.64) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Alfred Provis have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work At the hearthside in September 2000 with an auction result of GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,881.47).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Mai 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit At the fireside von Alfred Provis zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.171,64) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Provis auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit At the hearthside im September 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.112,50 (€ 6.881,47).
