In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Trappers around a Campfire with the Wind River Mountains of the Rockies in the Background by Alfred Jacob Miller. The »bidding war« ended at USD 423,000.00 (€ 383,882.38), 41% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Jacob Miller - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Pawnee Running a Buffalo, which sold at auction in May 2016 for USD 1,565,000.00 (€ 1,405,478.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 41 % übertroffen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Trappers around a Campfire with the Wind River Mountains of the Rockies in the Background von Alfred Jacob Miller zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 423.000,00 (€ 383.882,38) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Jacob Miller mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Pawnee Running a Buffalo beobachtet, die im Mai 2016 für USD 1.565.000,00 (€ 1.405.478,22) versteigert wurde.
