Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sioux Reconnoitering by Alfred Jacob Miller was sold in the 19th Century American Art auction at Christies in New York in January this year. The price achieved of USD 138,600.00 (€ 127,647.82) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Jacob Miller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pawnee Running a Buffalo in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 1,565,000.00 (€ 1,405,478.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sioux Reconnoitering von Alfred Jacob Miller wurde im Januar diesen Jahres in der Auktion 19th Century American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 138.600,00 (€ 127.647,82) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Jacob Miller erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pawnee Running a Buffalo im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.565.000,00 (€ 1.405.478,22).
