Auction result well in line with expectations
In April this year Christies in New York held the auction Modern American Masterworks from the Ted Shen Collection, which included the work Cubist Head by Alfred Henry Maurer. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 11,413.04) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Henry Maurer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Woman In White in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 590,500.00 (€ 410,754.03).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April diesen Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Modern American Masterworks from the Ted Shen Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cubist Head von Alfred Henry Maurer zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.600,00 (€ 11.413,04) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Henry Maurer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Woman In White im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 590.500,00 (€ 410.754,03).
