This artwork by Alfred F. de Prades achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in February 2014. In the Interiors auction, the work Portrait of William James Fenn-Williams with his hounds; together with a companion painting sold for USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,345.94) - well above the upper estimate of USD 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred F. de Prades achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Robert the Devil with Jockey up on a racecourse in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 89,625.00 (€ 95,968.52).
