Auction result well in line with expectations
The work In a sunlit forest by Alfred Bastien was sold in the Pictures Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2007. It changed hands for a price of EUR 1,875.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Bastien achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Le Maharaja Et Ses Elephants A La Procession Du Festival De Dussehra A Mysore in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 32,450.00 (€ 39,234.49).

Die Arbeit In a sunlit forest von Alfred Bastien wurde im September 2007 in der Auktion Pictures Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 1.875,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Bastien erzielen.
