Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The day's bag by Alfred Arthur Brunel de Neuville was sold in the Nineteenth Century European Art auction at Christies in London in March 2008. The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,570.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Alfred Arthur Brunel de Neuville have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A basket of apples, pears, oranges, lemons, a bowl of grapes and an earthenware pot on a stone ledge; and Whitecurrants and redcurrants in a basket, a bowl of cherries, asparagus and a brass cooking pot on a draped ledge in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,874.97).
