Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2013 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art, which included the work Oysters, Shrimps And Mussels With A Lemon; And Peaches, Grapes And Plums by Alfred Arthur Brunel de Neuville. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,976.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Other works by Alfred Arthur Brunel de Neuville have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2010 the work A basket of apples, pears, oranges, lemons, a bowl of grapes and an earthenware pot on a stone ledge; and Whitecurrants and redcurrants in a basket, a bowl of cherries, asparagus and a brass cooking pot on a draped ledge was auctioned for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,874.97).
