Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2006 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction British and Continental Pictures including Marine pictures, which included the work Surprise by Alfred Arthur Brunel de Neuville. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,207.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Arthur Brunel de Neuville - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A basket of apples, pears, oranges, lemons, a bowl of grapes and an earthenware pot on a stone ledge; and Whitecurrants and redcurrants in a basket, a bowl of cherries, asparagus and a brass cooking pot on a draped ledge, which sold at auction in December 2010 for GBP 9,375.00 (€ 10,874.97).
Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Arthur Brunel de Neuville mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A basket of apples, pears, oranges, lemons, a bowl of grapes and an earthenware pot on a stone ledge; and Whitecurrants and redcurrants in a basket, a bowl of cherries, asparagus and a brass cooking pot on a draped ledge beobachtet, die im Dezember 2010 für GBP 9.375,00 (€ 10.874,97) versteigert wurde.
