This price was achieved in the auction Russian Art and Paintings at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexis Gritchenko - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Open Window, Menton, which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 67,250.00 (€ 85,006.25).
