This artwork by Alexis Gritchenko achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Olympia in June 2006. In the Russian auction, the work The Island Of Elba, Italy sold for GBP 4,560.00 (€ 6,598.24) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexis Gritchenko achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Open Window, Menton in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 67,250.00 (€ 85,006.25).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alexis Gritchenko erzielte im Juni 2006 bei Sothebys in Olympia einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Russian wurde die Arbeit The Island Of Elba, Italy für GBP 4.560,00 (€ 6.598,24) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexis Gritchenko erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Open Window, Menton im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 67.250,00 (€ 85.006,25).
