In January 2013 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art, which included the work Figures On The Quay Before The Entrance To The Grand Canal by Alexandre-Thomas Francia. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,754.42), 50% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alexandre-Thomas Francia; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot View of Loch Katrine sold at auction in October 2008 with the realized price of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 11,153.11).

Im Januar 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures On The Quay Before The Entrance To The Grand Canal von Alexandre-Thomas Francia zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.754,42) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Alexandre-Thomas Francia; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit View of Loch Katrine im Oktober 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 11.153,11).
