Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Ships On A Stormy Sea, With Figures On The Shore by Alexandre Jean Noël was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,996.80). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexandre Jean Noël - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Stormy Mediterranean Coastal Scene With Distressed Fishermen In The Foreground; A Calm Mediterranean Coastal Scene With Fishermen Unloading Their Catch, which sold at auction in April 2008 for GBP 46,100.00 (€ 58,770.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Ships On A Stormy Sea, With Figures On The Shore von Alexandre Jean Noël im Juli 2013 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 19.996,80) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexandre Jean Noël mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Stormy Mediterranean Coastal Scene With Distressed Fishermen In The Foreground; A Calm Mediterranean Coastal Scene With Fishermen Unloading Their Catch beobachtet, die im April 2008 für GBP 46.100,00 (€ 58.770,99) versteigert wurde.
